The Practical Choice for Singapore Office Handsets
Fanvil started in IP communications and SIP phone hardware: the same technical foundation as Yealink and Yeastar, but with a particular focus on engineering flexibility into their product range. Their phones are certified compatible with Yeastar, 3CX, Asterisk, and all major IPPBX platforms. Where Fanvil stands apart from competitors in the Singapore context is in the breadth of deployment options their product range covers: standard PoE Cat6, Wi-Fi, and: most distinctively: a 2-wire system that converts existing analogue keyphone cabling into an IP network without pulling a single new cable.
For Singapore offices upgrading from Panasonic or NEC keyphone systems, this matters significantly. The building has existing cabling to every desk: Cat3 or similar 2-wire cable, identical to the sockets the old keyphones plugged into. If the office simply installs a Yeastar IPPBX and new Fanvil phones on Cat6, that existing cabling goes to waste and every desk position needs new cable. The Fanvil 2-wire solution: the X303-2 Wire phone with PN8/PN24 switches: reuses those existing cable runs. The migration from keyphone to IPPBX happens without new cable installation, at significantly lower cost and disruption.
Securevision Scope
Securevision supplies and installs Fanvil IP phones as part of Yeastar IPPBX deployments. We select the appropriate Fanvil model: standard PoE, Wi-Fi, or 2-wire: based on the office infrastructure. We also pair Fanvil door phones (i31S, i16SV) with Fanvil IP phones on the same Yeastar platform, giving offices a single-brand telephony and door entry system managed from one IPPBX.
Three Deployment Advantages That Matter for Singapore Offices
Wi-Fi Models: No Cable Required at the Desk
Fanvil produces Wi-Fi enabled IP phones that connect to the IPPBX over the office's existing Wi-Fi network: no Ethernet cable at the desk. For offices where pulling new Cat6 cable to every desk position is impractical: a heritage shophouse with thick walls, a rented space the landlord won't allow cable work in, or a hotdesking environment: a Wi-Fi Fanvil phone only needs a power socket.
The portable LINKVIL W611W takes this further: a Wi-Fi IP phone that requires no desk installation at all, functioning as a wireless handset that roams around the office on Wi-Fi coverage. For warehouses, factory floors, and large open spaces where staff move between areas but still need to be reachable on their office extension, the W611W provides telephony coverage without any desk or cable infrastructure.
PC Passthrough Port: One Cable Powers Both Phone and Computer
Most Fanvil X-Series and V-Series phones have dual Ethernet ports: a WAN port connecting to the network switch, and a PC passthrough port that connects to the computer on the same desk. Power and network arrive at the phone via a single Cat6 cable with PoE; the computer draws its network connection from the phone's passthrough port.
For desks with limited cable runs: or offices where the network infrastructure only provides one cable drop per workstation: the passthrough port means a single cable serves both the phone and the computer. No second cable run, no second switch port consumed, no second network point required. This is a practical benefit in Singapore offices where the original Cat5e or Cat6 installation only provided one data point per desk, which was assumed to be for the computer.
2-Wire Retrofit: Reuse Existing Keyphone Cabling
Fanvil's 2-wire solution: launched in 2024: is purpose-built for the keyphone-to-IPPBX migration scenario. The X303-2 Wire IP phone connects via an RJ11 interface to the existing 2-wire cable running to the desk. At the IPPBX end, a PN8 or PN24 2-wire PoE switch connects to the Yeastar IPPBX and provides power and network to up to 8 or 24 phones over the building's existing cable infrastructure. Transmission distance up to 300 metres: sufficient for any Singapore office building.
For offices where every desk already has a keyphone cable: Cat3 or similar 2-wire: this system converts the entire office to IP telephony without pulling a single new cable. The old keyphones come out, the X303-2 Wire phones go in on the same sockets, the PN24 switch connects at the communications room, and the Yeastar IPPBX registers every extension. The office goes from keyphone to full IPPBX in a day, using the same physical cable infrastructure that has been in the walls for years.
SECURE™ Integration: Fanvil Phones + Fanvil Door Phones on Yeastar
Fanvil i31S or i16SV door stations register on Yeastar IPPBX as SIP extensions alongside Fanvil desk phones. When a visitor presses the door station, it rings the reception phone: and on Fanvil X7 or X5U models with colour displays, the visitor's face appears on screen from the door station camera. One platform, one provisioning system, one support contact. No integration layer between the door entry and the phone system.
Fanvil Phone Models We Deploy
Four product families cover every Singapore office scenario from a basic desk phone to a colour-screen executive handset to a wireless warehouse phone.
X-Series: Standard Office Phones
Fanvil's main business phone line. Entry models (X3, X4) for standard desk use: colour display, HD audio, PoE, dual Ethernet with PC passthrough. Mid-range X5U with side colour display for busy multi-line users. High-end X7 with 5-inch colour touchscreen for executives and reception: displays door station video on incoming calls.
Wi-Fi Phones: W Series & LINKVIL
Wi-Fi IP phones for cable-free desk deployment. Standard models require only a power socket: network via Wi-Fi. The LINKVIL W611W is a portable wireless handset for warehouse, factory, and large-space environments: staff carry it on Wi-Fi coverage anywhere in the building. No desk, no cable, full office extension capability.
X303-2 Wire: Keyphone Cable Retrofit
Full-featured IP phone that connects over existing 2-wire (Cat3/RVV) cable: the same cable that the old keyphone plugged into. Paired with PN8 (8-port) or PN24 (24-port) 2-wire PoE switches at the comms room. 4 SIP accounts, 2.4-inch colour display, HD audio, conference calling. Reuses existing cable up to 300m. No new cabling required.
V-Series: Business Phones with Bluetooth
Fanvil's mid-range business phone line with built-in Bluetooth for wireless headset connection: EHS support for hands-free call centre and receptionist use. V62/V64 models with colour displays and 6 SIP lines. For staff who answer high volumes of calls and need hands-free operation, the Bluetooth headset connection eliminates the cable entirely.
