The Gap That SmartPlus Could Not Fill
As Securevision installed Akuvox SmartPlus across more Singapore condominiums, a pattern became clear. SmartPlus is a powerful intercom and access platform: fast, cloud-managed, email-based user administration: but it is a global product designed for worldwide deployment. Feature decisions are driven by what works everywhere. Singapore condominium management has specific requirements that a global platform will never prioritise: facility booking with payment integration, visitor pre-registration linked to vehicle licence plate recognition, MCST announcement broadcasting, and IoT controls for common area amenities.
VESTA is Securevision's response to this gap. Rather than waiting for a global platform to add Singapore-specific features, we built our own. VESTA is a proprietary platform developed by Securevision, integrating with Akuvox SmartPlus for intercom and access, with GantryGo for vehicle management, and with IoT-enabled devices for estate amenity control. It is designed from the ground up for Singapore condominium management: the workflows, the stakeholders (MCST, managing agent, residents, visitors, guards), and the operational realities of running a managed residential estate in Singapore.
What VESTA Is
VESTA is a cloud-based resident app and management platform developed and maintained by Securevision. It integrates with Akuvox SmartPlus (intercom and access), GantryGo (vehicle management), and IoT device controls (amenity lighting, air-conditioning). It is currently in active development: core features are live and the platform is being extended with additional capabilities. VESTA is deployed and managed by Securevision for condominium clients. What VESTA Brings Together
Six capability areas that no single existing platform covers end-to-end for a Singapore condominium.
Intercom & Access: Everything SmartPlus Does, Inside VESTA
VESTA integrates with Akuvox SmartPlus so residents handle all intercom and access functions within the VESTA app: not a separate app. When a visitor presses the lobby door station, the call comes through VESTA. The resident sees the visitor on video, speaks to them, and releases the door or lift from the same app they use to book the tennis court or read MCST announcements.
All the capabilities of SmartPlus are preserved: video calling with sub-second connection, door and lift release, email-based user management, 4 app users per unit, master user household administration, and remote HQ monitoring capability for after-hours guard replacement. VESTA does not replace SmartPlus: it wraps around it, providing the resident a unified interface rather than requiring two separate apps for intercom and estate management.
Visitor Pre-Registration + GantryGo Integration: Drive-Through Entry
This is one of VESTA's most operationally significant capabilities. When a resident expects a visitor, they send an invitation through VESTA. The visitor receives the invitation and self-registers: providing their name, phone number, and vehicle licence plate. VESTA passes the licence plate data directly to GantryGo.
When the visitor arrives at the car park entrance, the LPR camera reads the plate. GantryGo matches it against the pre-registered visitors list and opens the barrier automatically. The visitor drives straight through without stopping to speak to the guard, without the guard manually entering details, and without any queue at the gantry. The entire visit is logged: who was invited, by which unit, when they arrived, when they left. If the visitor does not pre-register their plate, they can still be admitted via QR code access or guard intervention, and their details are captured at that point. For condominiums throwing parties or hosting events, the resident submits a guest list with plates and the entire guest group drives through automatically during the event window.
Facility Booking with Payment: Fully Digital, No Counter Required
Residents book condominium facilities: swimming pool lanes, tennis courts, BBQ pits, function rooms, meeting rooms: directly through the VESTA app. Booking rules, availability calendars, and time slot management are configured by the managing agent. Where a deposit or booking fee applies, payment is handled through the app's payment portal: no cashier counter, no cheque, no manual receipt.
For facilities with access control: a function room or gym with a card or face reader: the booking confirmation in VESTA automatically activates the resident's access credential for the booked time window. The resident books the meeting room at 10am, arrives at 10am, and their face or card opens the room without any additional step. At the end of the booking window, access reverts. This eliminates the need for a guard or staff member to physically unlock facilities for each booking.
Estate Communications: Announcements, Notices, and Alerts
The managing agent and MCST use VESTA as the primary communication channel to residents: replacing physical notice boards, paper letters, and fragmented WhatsApp group messages. Announcements are pushed through the app with read receipts available. Routine notices: fire alarm testing dates, maintenance shutdown schedules, AGM notices, pool closure: go out as targeted push notifications to all units or specific floors.
Two-way feedback is also available: residents submit maintenance requests, feedback, or complaints through the app, and the managing agent tracks and responds through the same platform. The entire communication record between the MCST and each resident is logged and searchable, replacing the paper trail that currently makes dispute resolution difficult in many Singapore condominiums.
IoT Controls: Amenity Lighting and Climate, Automated by Booking
VESTA is being developed to interface with IoT-enabled devices controlling common area amenities: specifically tennis court lighting and air-conditioning in function rooms and meeting spaces. When a resident books the tennis court for 7pm, VESTA can trigger the court lights to activate at 6:30pm: giving the lights time to warm up before the booking starts. At 8pm when the booking ends, the lights switch off automatically.
This removes a routine task from the security guard: currently guards are responsible for manually switching amenity lights on and off throughout the evening as bookings start and end. Automating this through VESTA lets the guard focus on security rather than acting as a facilities switch operator. The same logic applies to air-conditioning in enclosed facilities: VESTA can activate cooling 30 minutes before a booking and shut it down after. This is currently in development, with deployment subject to IoT device compatibility and cybersecurity validation of the target devices.
GantryGo Integration: Overnight Parking Reminders via VESTA
Because VESTA holds the resident's contact details and GantryGo holds the vehicle log, the two platforms work together for overnight parking enforcement. When a visitor vehicle registered to a VESTA invitation is still in the car park 30 minutes before the overnight parking rule takes effect, VESTA sends an automated reminder: to the visitor's phone number collected at pre-registration, and optionally to the resident who issued the invitation.
The guard does not need to walk the car park checking plates against a log. VESTA and GantryGo identify which vehicles are overdue, which resident they are associated with, and trigger the notification automatically. The resident is empowered to contact their own guest directly, without the guard having to track down the right unit to escalate.
A Platform in Active Development
VESTA is a live platform actively deployed in Singapore condominiums, and simultaneously a platform under active development. The core intercom integration with Akuvox SmartPlus, visitor pre-registration, GantryGo vehicle linking, and estate communications are operational. Facility booking with access control integration and IoT amenity control are in the development pipeline.
Live Now
Akuvox SmartPlus intercom integration, visitor pre-registration with QR code and temporary PIN, GantryGo licence plate pre-registration and drive-through entry, facility booking, estate announcements and push notifications, two-way resident feedback, payment portal for bookings, overnight parking alerts.
In Development
IoT amenity lighting control (tennis courts, function rooms), air-conditioning scheduling tied to bookings, expanded access control integrations beyond Akuvox, Hikvision intercom integration, cybersecurity hardening of IoT device interfaces.
On the Roadmap
Open integration framework for third-party intercom and access systems, expanded IoT device compatibility, visitor vehicle communication (reminders, welcome messages, departure prompts), multi-property management for managing agents overseeing multiple condominiums.
SECURE™ Integration: VESTA + GantryGo + Akuvox
VESTA is the resident-facing layer that connects Securevision's two proprietary platforms. A visitor invitation in VESTA pre-populates GantryGo with the visitor's plate for automatic barrier entry. The Akuvox SmartPlus intercom functions within VESTA: the resident never needs to leave the app. Guard console functions in GantryGo remain available for vehicles arriving without pre-registration. The three platforms: VESTA, GantryGo, and Akuvox SmartPlus: form a complete condominium security and management ecosystem managed by Securevision.
