Architectural security integration for a contemporary tropical residence, where robust boundary protection meets the openness of courtyard-centred living.
This contemporary tropical landed residence at Siglap Bank was designed by HYLA Architects. The home turns inward around a central courtyard, creating a private sanctuary of light, air, and calm within a dense urban landed context. The architecture balances openness and privacy, requiring a security design that supports this balance without dominating the experience of the home.
Securevision delivered an integrated residential security system that supports the home’s inward-facing privacy. The scope included intrusion protection, CCTV surveillance, visitor communication, and automated gate control, all designed to remain discreet within the refined architectural setting while providing robust boundary control.

This project was designed in collaboration with HYLA Architects, one of Singapore's most recognised residential architecture practices.
The home’s central courtyard brings light, air, and greenery deep into the interior. Our security design had to support this balance of openness and privacy without interrupting the calm, sheltered character of the residence.
Strengthening the outer boundary preserves the internal sanctuary, allowing the courtyard-centred architecture to remain open and tranquil. We implemented security that remains discreet within the refined HYLA Architects design, respecting the home’s privacy within a dense landed context. This ensures that controlled access and monitoring support the home’s natural ventilation and openness, rather than interrupting it.
Our technical strategy prioritised coordinating boundary entry with visitor communication, eliminating blind spots across the entire property, maintaining architectural minimalist equipment placement, and delivering intuitive monitoring across all levels from the basement to the attic.
As the security integration partner for this project, Securevision focused on planning the alarm, CCTV, intercom, and gate control as one coordinated system. This approach supports the architectural concept of inward privacy by ensuring all entry and approach points are managed through a unified technical stack.
By coordinating these systems early, we avoided the technical friction of standalone installations, making visitor access and vehicle entry practical for the family's daily use while maintaining the home’s aesthetic integrity.
The detached house is protected by four technical layers, established to secure the boundary while preserving the openness within.
RISCO LightSYS alarm with 14 zones, providing specific detection points across the perimeter and courtyard access areas.
7-camera Hikvision network providing clear situational awareness of approached points from the street to the side gate.
Aiphone JOS intercom with 3 indoor monitors, ensuring clear verification is available on every primary living level.
Dormer auto swing gate and pedestrian side gate control, establishing a secure driveway and foot entry envelope.
The final implementation at Siglap Bank delivered layered protection that supports the inward-facing nature of the courtyard home. Residents benefit from clear visitor verification and discreet monitoring across all key approach points.
By establishing strong boundary control at the entry, the system allows the internal courtyard and living spaces to remain open and connected to light and air, secure in the knowledge that the property perimeter is actively protected.
For inward-facing landed homes, security should strengthen the boundary while preserving the calm and openness inside.
Every project Securevision delivers draws on multiple systems working together - cameras, access control, intercoms, vehicle management, network infrastructure, and platform software. The cards below show the full range of systems we design and install. Each one links to a deeper explanation of how it works, when it is needed, and what to look for when specifying it.
